The Nike Air Zoom Vapor X Kyrie 5 tennis shoe is a special hybrid design that combines the Zoom Vapor X tennis shoe with the Kyrie 5 basketball shoe. The concept was inspired by the connection between Nike Tennis pro Nick Kyrgios and basketball superstar Kyrie Irving, who are both natives of Australia. The two shoes were combined by featuring the silhouette of the Zoom Vapor X with added details from the Kyrie 5, including its “flytrap” lace cover and heel detailing. The shoe is presented in an eye-catching color palette of white mesh with black and Hot Lava accents. The tongues also feature a graphic combining the Nike Court logo with Irving’s “KI” insignia. The Nike Air Zoom Vapor X Kyrie 5 “Hot Lava” release in limited quantities in January 2019.
